- רִפְסָא, רִי׳f. (preced.) 1) stamping. Targ. Ez. 26:10 רִפְסַת constr. (h. text שפעת). 2) shaking. B. Mets.79b ר׳ דספינתא Ms. M. (ed. רִפְסְתָא, or רִפְסָתָא, pl.) the injury done to the ship by the shaking (attendant upon unloading and loading). 3) a place for treading, press. Erub.40b אמר ליה דליוה לרטיבאר׳ לי בדוכתיה Ar. (Ms. M. דפסא; ed. דלויה …ר׳ ליהוכ׳, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) he said, carry the green date, I have a press on the spot, i. e. you came to find out my opinion, you will soon have an opportunity to learn it (differ. in comment.).
